Field Trips! And more pics!

odoratus)

Our last two field trips focused on finding reptiles, although several frogs were found and caught : ) We trapped two Yellowbelly Sliders (Trachemys scripta scripta); we identified unique markings, measured them, sexed them (both females), and marked them using the turtle ID codes. Afterwards they were released and will hopefully be recaptured in the future to monitor growth. The Mud Snake (Farancia abacura) snake we found was unfortunately missing both eyes, but still got around ok. These snakes are burrowers who adapt well in the water.
