Mascot Nominee

Over the semester we've learned about the evolution, physiology and ecology of many herps. Geared with this knowledge, our responsibility to conserve these organisms becomes apparent. Our class mascot should act as a messenger. The message conveyed should be one of ecological significance while raising awareness of the world's dwindling herp populations. Accomplishing this task can be done as WWF did using a panda for their mascot. We'll use the cutest relevant organism possible to embody all local herps. We need a non-threatening, doe-eyed creature that will capture the hearts of people; it cannot be too slimy or too threatening and cute enough to save. And the nominee is...

Pseudacris feriarum
A local species of concern, the upland chorus frog sparks conversation of conservation. As this mascot's face gains the attention of the public all will unite for habitat conservation. Look into those innocent eyes... I see a new mascot, don't you?
