Last Thursday was our most successful field trip this semester. Dr. Boone set turtle traps the night before we went out. One of the traps can be seen in the top image. We caught a fairly large red-eared slider, Trachemys scripta (seen above). We also caught 2 or 3 midland painted turtles, Chrysemys picta, at this site. Finally, it seems warm enough for us to be able to find more than a single herp per trip!-Dominique Wagner
