Urban Frog

In an area that most people would say is completely discovered, biologists have recently discovered that a frog species they disregarded as a common leopard frog was actually a brand new species. Found mainly in Yankee stadium, this new species looks incredibly like a leopard frog. In the area of the stadium, there are Southern and Northern leopard frogs; however the call from this new species is a repeated croak, rather than a "elongated snore" of typical leopard frogs. DNA testing of this new frog species versus a common leopard frog confirmed this discovery.

Wow, it does resemble the leopard tree frog! I wonder if there are any distinguishing characteristics, other than the call that could be used to differentiate between the two other than a DNA test. It would be great to have a look at one of these guys!!
