It was pretty cold for a field trip.....We caught quite a few of snapping turtles (both male and female)
Also found mud turtles. One such species name Eastern mud turtle; K. subrubrum. Characteristics: large plastron with rounded shell.
Turtles sexes were determined by body size and length of claws on the forearms. Males typically were smaller than females but with longer claws.
